INTRO TO SPIRITUAL COACHING

A spiritual life coach helps you improve your life by changing the way you think and operate on a much deeper level. Not only will we be examining your concerns, behavior and goals, we will delve into your deep-rooted beliefs, connection to the divine (or lack thereof), and help you connect to your higher self. We will practice mediation and explore the depths of gratitude while working with the laws of the universe to get what you actually want out of life based on your soul’s deepest desires. What’s important to realize is that you don’t have to be religious to work with a spiritual life coach – I personally do not adhere to a religion and do not like to use labels. I work with the divine which blends together all religions and various ancient practices in some aspects. For spiritual coaching, you just have to be open to deepening your connection with your soul. Anyone with any belief system will find the experience of spiritual coaching rather life altering.

Understanding your higher self and finding a spiritual perspective to relate to the world around you can help you lead a more meaningful and joyful life. Through our coaching sessions, you could discover that you have a profound purpose and that your life events (including tragedies and traumas) have been orchestrated to bring you closer to your calling. The revelation of your life purpose can help clear the energetic blocks in the way of manifesting the life that you are meant to live. I can help you find who you really are and help you heal your trauma so that you can move into brighter tomorrow. This will allow you to see the world and your life in a brand new light. You can learn how to clear your mind through daily pratices and learn about what you personally need to become happy and complete. You will learn to take charge in creating your life and you will learn to make decisions that strengthen your relationships and manifest your dreams. You will learn how to find peace more often when you are in the midst of chaos, and you will deepen your sense of knowing about the unseen world within the universe.

“In today’s rush, we all think too much — seek too much — want too much — and forget about the joy of just being.”

Eckhart Tolle

INTRO TO MINDFULNESS & MEDITATION

Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present. You will learn how to be aware of where you are and what you’re doing in the moment, which leads to not overreacting or feeling overwhelmed by what’s going on around you. Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re experiencing using all your senses, you’re being mindful. In fact, there is up-to-date researchers that can prove when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re changing the physical structure of your brain. So while mindfulness is technically something humans naturally possess, the mind clutters and you lose the ability to be present. Mindfulness is available to you when you need it most if you practice on a daily basis. Although mindfulness is a form of meditation, they are not the same thing. Mindfulness meditation suspends judgment explores the workings of the mind, approaching the experience with kindness, to ourselves and gratitude for others.

Meditation varies depending on the type you choose to practice. When we meditate, we venture into the workings of our minds. It’s literal definition is to engage in mental exercise and take charge of the mind. Various meditations can include breathing techniques, yoga, body scanning, loving-kindness, transcendental and zen.

We can go over the best options for you and see which resonate the most.

INTRO TO ENERGY HEALING

Energy healing channels life force and universal energy and works with the fields around your body. Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been either a physical injury or emotional pain. Over time, these energy blocks can manifest into mental and physical illness. Reiki is one form of energy healing that I do, but energy healing is far more beautifully complex. Energy healing can encompass any modality from sound baths to acupuncture to Reiki. An energy healer is a conduit for and a channeler of light and energy which are used to promote healing.

According to the NY Daily news, “Energy healing — tapping into the body's own frequencies as a type of alternative medicine — is being taken seriously by health practitioners trained in both eastern and western modalities of medicine. And science is backing up its powers: One 2013 study found that 10 minutes of energy healing was as effective as physical therapy in improving the range of motion in people with mobility problems.” There’s much more to this, so if you’re ambivalent about energy work, please take the time to research valid examples on the web. Even better, give it a try. There’s an undeniable shift you will feel in the very least as even the biggest skeptic. The key to this however, is to allow the energy in so it can freely move. The more you accept this form of healing, the more profound a session you will have.

As a spiritual healer, I deal in the invisible and unseen and navigate to find what your body, mind and spirit need most for your healing. As a shamanic practitioner, I work with your chakras and may use light touch, sound healing, crystals, spirit and light to assist in your session I may also recommend self practices such as tai chi or qi gong for you to get your stagnant energy moving and flowing. We will work together based on your specific needs to find the best plan of action.

INTRO TO THE CHAKRAS

Chakras are circular vortexes of energy that are located on seven different points on the spinal column, and these chakras are connected to the various organs and glands in your body. These chakras are used often in energy healing because they are held responsible for disturbing life energy. We have major and minor chakras in our energetic body systems. When a chakra is not functioning well or if it has a blockage, mental, emotional and/or physical illness can manifest. Therefore, our emotional, mental and physical well being is affected by our chakras. The foundation of working with your chakras involves balancing.

This is a simple breakdown of the seven main chakras:

  • Root chakra — at the base of the spine — associated with the color red

  • Sacral chakra — just below the navel — associated with the color orange

  • Solar Plexus chakra — in the stomach area — associated with the color yellow

  • Heart chakra — center of your chest — associated with the color green

  • Throat chakra — base of the throat — associated with the color blue

  • Third Eye chakra — mid forehead, just above area between the eyes — associated with the color indigo

  • Crown chakra — top of the head — associated with the color violet

INTRO TO SHAMANISM

Shamanism is the most ancient healing practice known to human kind. It dates back over 100,000 years and has organically spread all over the world as a response to the dire needs of many people. Their mystic abilities justified them as the world’s very first doctors and psychotherapists. The term “shaman” is derived from the Siberian Tungus tribe, and is defined as “spiritual healer,” and more specifically, “one who sees in the dark.” Shamanism is a collection of ancient traditions based on a practitioner altering his/her state of consciousness in order to see and interact with the non-ordinary realm (spirit world) for the purpose of wisdom and healing. Shamans work to restore and remove energetic pathways, recover soul parts (also seen as working with the subconscious around trauma), and can remove negative entities.

Individuals of religious practices may practice shamanism, but not all shamans are part of an organized religion nor consider it a religion. Interestingly, Buddhism and Paganism have commonalities with Shamanism. For example in Buddhism, the concept that all of life is interconnected is a belief for both, as well as the concept of nature being a foundation of spirituality. Buddhists center around thoughts from the mind and releasing attachments while shamans also release attachments and believe that thoughts are energy, and energy has a profound effect on our world. Both believe in dissolving the ego. Shamans aim to be a clear channel for healing energy and thus ego gets in the way of the healing. Paganism meshes well with shamanism as many of the beliefs are similar. This is mainly because Paganism came about from cultures alongside shamanism. They are not one in the same, however. They just go hand in hand well should someone want to adhere to both practices. I take pieces of both Paganism and Buddhism and implement their practices in my work.

Shamanism comes with a great honor and ethical responsibility. Shamans possess the ability to transform what they learn and experience into a change in the ordinary world (reality). The work with wisdom from the spirit realm in order to heal and transform the physical realm is what differentiates shamans from other spiritual lightworkers. Mediums and psychics can access these realms as well, but they just do it for information and do not take action while accessing those worlds. Although shamans communicate with spirit, their intent differs from a medium’s. They don’t purposefully connect with crossed over loved ones to bring comfort to the grieving. Their goal is much broader. It is to commune with any spirit or entity (important to note how this can include the spirit of the patient they are working with) that will assist in the healing process.

Shamans strive to teach that all things are interconnected and alive, including the Earth (mama pacha), stars, and even the wind in air. It is important to make note that shamanic healing is a holistic service that works with many other healing practices, such as Western medicine and acupuncture, among others.

INTRO TO CRYSTAL HEALING

Working with crystals by having them in close proximity, sleeping with/by them, holding them while meditating, or placing them on areas of your body while getting energy work done is said to promote physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Crystals are believed to do this by positively interacting with your body's energy field, known as your chakras. While some crystals alleviate stress, others can improve concentration or creativity. Each crystal has a natural healing vibration and color. These unique healing vibrations are introduced to your body and energy field to vitalize, heal and balance. I may work with crystals depending on your needs during your sessions, and/or recommend them to you for use outside our sessions.

INTRO TO MEDIUMSHIP AND PSYCHIC HEALING

Mediumship dates back later than biblical texts. Throughout time, mediumship has manifested in various forms such as prophecies, visions, energetic healing, psychic readings and spirit communication. Every human possesses psychic intuitive abilities but most people cannot quiet their minds and resonate at the frequencies to receive the messages. When you hear the term medium, it's based on someone having the ability to talk to human’s spirits who have crossed to the other side. However, there is a significant difference between psychics and mediums. This is mainly because a psychic isn't necessarily a medium, but a medium is always also psychic. A distinction between the two is that while psychic readings often focus on predicting future events, mediums mainly tune into the past and present, and receive the information from spirits and not necessarily the energy around someone or an object.

If you work with a psychic, medium or any other intuitive spiritual lightworker, it is important to ground yourself, connect to spirit asking for the information to be for your highest good, and just allow spirit to connect. Just be and go with the flow. Spirit will guide you and your reader. It is best not to become dependent on someone else doing your intuitive work for you, however. It is beautiful to learn how to go within, listen to and trust your own inner voice, because you have access to everything you'll ever need to know by yourself. I will work with you when appropriate to teach you exercises on how to quiet your mind, prepare yourself for the intuitive work and tune in.

I am a psychic medium and I receive information directly from those who have crossed over, spirit guides and angels. I do not offer reading sessions, I will only use this modality when incorporated with your life coaching and/or energy healing work. This is because I do not feel called to do readings and feel that my ability was gifted to me only in order to heal others through a more hands-on process. I am can also access the Akashic Records and may work it into your session, if applicable. Going directly off of Wikipedia, the Akashic Records are defined as: “In theosophy and anthroposophy, the Akashic records are a compendium of all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future. They are believed by theosophists to be encoded in a non-physical plane of existence known as the etheric plane. There are anecdotal accounts but there is no scientific evidence for the existence of the Akashic records.”

“And without belief, dreams don’t manifest into tangible reality.” Doreen Virtue

INTRO TO THE TAROT

Adding to the information on mediumship and psychic healing, tarot is a set of playing cards dated back to approximately the mid-14th century which, since the late 17th century has been used by intuitive individuals to gain a deeper understanding of situations and find answers to their questions. Tarot readings dial into the the past, present and future. No one knows for certain how they work, but most psychics either believe that the tarot cards are guided by spiritual forces (such as loved ones, angels and spirit guides from the spirit world), or that the tarot cards connect with one’s higher self (consciousness). In other words, the cards provide an intuitive awareness of what you already know deep within yourself.

Oracle cards are used in a similar sense, often using less cards in a spread and do not have the set structure of tarot. There are many different types of decks that vary from size, purpose, imagery and usage. The common set up is that they have artistic images and themes, along with a manual that explains the ways in which a reader should interpret each card and use the deck.

When appropriate, I may use tarot cards in your life coaching sessions to help guide you. They are always helpful and have no downside whatsoever when you use them correctly as a gentle guide to tap into your intuition. I do not recommend using them for fortune telling, but they can help you make wiser decisions about your future if used appropriately. You may request them at any time during our sessions.
